SWARAID, JAKARTA: Izin edar sirup obat dari tiga perusahaan telah dihentikan oleh Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (BPOM) RI.
Tiga perusahaan tersebut didapati menggunakan bahan baku pelarut Propilen Glikol dan produk jadi mengandung cemaran EG yang melebihi ambang batas aman.
Tiga perusahaan yang dimaksud yakni produksi PT Yarindo Farmatama, PT Universal Pharmaceutical Industries, dan PT Afi Farma.
Bahan baku pelarut Propilen Glikol dan produk jadi mengandung cemaran EG diduga kuat menjadi biang kerok ratusan kasus gagal ginjal akut pada anak di Indonesia.
Kementerian Kesehatan RI hingga Minggu (6/11/22), mencatat total 324 kasus gagal ginjal akut dengan 195 pasien di antaranya meninggal dunia dan sebanyak 102 pasien dinyatakan sembuh di Indonesia.
“Berdasarkan hasil investigasi, BPOM menetapkan sanksi administratif dengan mencabut sertifikat Cara Pembuatan Obat yang Baik (CPOB) untuk sediaan cairan oral nonbetalaktam dan izin edar sirup obat yang diproduksi ketiga industri farmasi tersebut,” terang pihak BPOM melalui laman resminya, Senin (7/11/22).
